User talk:Ashleyisachild
Yay my user discussion page. It seems weird to me to have discussion pages for users' profiles. There should be some more definitive way to put people's contact info up.
(I (ashley) took down the welcome note because it was taking up space. Thanks though!)

PS Your contribs don't match your username, they're definitely not childish :-).
Welcome. Nice writeup at Wikipedia:New_user_log. You indicated there you haven't had much opportunity to practice what you're learning about communications. Wikipedia needs that! Even if you don't contribute a single new fact, improving the communications effectiveness of Wikipedia is valuable. See: User:Smack/A rewrite a day keeps the critics at bay. You're welcome and encouraged to rewrite articles to improve the writing.
Someone wrote on my user page that they think they were in my Scav photo, but I can never remember which IP addresses match up to which faces, so if you see this, tell me who you were.
Transheterozygote
[edit]hi -- sorry about the "references" box on this page. I may have jumped too soon, but it seemed like a word referenced only in a single blog, and that's not enough for a scientific article. Poking around google scholar I see that the term is used, so feel free to take that box down. I would add other references to the page, though, so it doesn't look like it was made up by a single blogger. I'd also add a sentence or two for context, about, for example, the utility of transheterozygotes in genetics research. thanks! bikeable (talk) 22:10, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Copyright problem: Panang curry
[edit]Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Panang curry. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. • Gene93k (talk) 03:36, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
The article contained copyrighted text from http://www.templeofthai.com/food/fresh_curry_paste/panangnittaya-2141040253.php. That text has been deleted. Referencing an online shopping link goes against reliable sources and external links guidelines anyway. • Gene93k (talk) 03:36, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi Gene93k. I didn't add any copyrighted text to the Panang Curry article. You'll see that the text I entered into the article doesn't coincide at all with the text on the webpage http://www.templeofthai.com/food/fresh_curry_paste/panangnittaya-2141040253.php. Someone else entered that webpage as a related link, and it has nothing to do with the paragraph you removed and then reentered.
- The edit histories of Panang curry paste, which you created, and Panang curry tell me differently. The edits lifted sentences word-for-word from the Temple of Thai link, where copyright is clearly marked. And from my edits to the page, what did I supposedly reenter? • Gene93k (talk) 20:02, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I see the sentence you're talking about. I didn't realize citing the source was insufficient. Ashleyisachild (talk) 22:06, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 16
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Native Daughters of the Golden West, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ursa. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
